Britain wants to have free schools in the country because they think they can save money. Well, the issue is that some people are arguing against it because they think this is a haphazard and unplanned policy. They are worried that there will be unqualified teachers that won't give their kids a proper education.
I think that they should look into this deeper and work on making this an excellent policy that has qualified teachers and they know what they are getting themselves into once this whole shin-dig goes down.
My other current event is about Britain possibly having a proposal to build on the recent treaties with France on bilateral co-operation by exploring initiatives for diplomatic and foreign policy co-operation. There is turning out to be an enormous amount of pressure finantially which is making both countries downsize in military force.
As much as the military force in each country means to them, I think that this treaty would benefit them both greatly so they can work together on many many issues with their governments and military power and to rebuild their trust even more than they already have.
You vote for who you want to lead your country in both the US and UK
We both have multiple partys
They do not have a checks and balance skystem.
They have a queen with not much power, we do not have a queen.
British Airways continues a walk out over poor pay and working conditions. The walk out was started by the union Unite however the Union did say that they were open to talk to B.A. anytime anyplace anywhere and without any conditions. British Airways said the first walkout had required it to cancel more than a third of its flights at a cost of around 7 million pounds or $10.4 million each day. The strikes continue with as of yet no end in sight if anything the workers are becoming even stronger in their disatisfaction and will continue until they have what they want.
i think british people are awesome and noone should be mad at eachother they should just go have some tea and everything will be aight.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has laid out a plan for more than $1 trillion in deficit spending which would raise taxes and public debt. Economist predict that the British economy will sink lower then it has since 1945. Britain continues down in the recession. The GDP debt will rise to 68 percent in 2010 and 70 percent by 2013 while this is not as sever as the United States some think that if the resession continues longer then the plan can sustain the Britain faces a run on the pound. This plan has led to political sparring between Gordon Browns Labour party and David Camerons Conservative party which comes at a very crucial time because elections are to be held this spring. Cameron described the Brown cabinet as a government of the living dead and said it was running out of money moral authority and time.
This is similar to what the United States is going through. We are facing even greater debt but people begin to freak out when teh threat of rising taxes knocks on their doors.
i think if they raise taxes they are going to end up just like us and we are not in that good of a position rite now.
More than sixty years have passed since I was first asked to declare in public my reaction to the birth - more accurately the re-birth - of modern China. In January 1950, I was one of a group of Cambridge students campaigning in the Conservative cause. 'Do you, or do you not', came a question from a baffled voter, 'agree with the Labour Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin's decision to recognise China's new Communist Government?'
The British have borrowed one of the most popular American political institutions by holding a series of televised debates among their three candidates for prime minister. It appears to have been a success, at least in heightening public interest in the race.
Britans government and our government are about the same there are only a few differences. Britan has had female presidents and we have not. They have not had a black president. britan also has a vice president. they also call their courts the supreme courts
President barack obama met with britans prime minister to talk about the war in afghanistan. the british also thiunk that they were forced to be a part of the war in iraq.
i dont think that we forced them to be in the war with us because we couldnt do that. i also think that it is good that they are talking about the war in iraq.

This article talks about how Britian candidates have started doing debates that are televised just like we've done in the US for many years.
The Britain Government and the U.S. government are very much alike. They both have a head person that is the top the totem pole. He also selects people and they are called his cabinet.
They also are different. When they meet in government they are not orderly, and they hoot and hollar during their meetings. They also have a Prime Minister whereas we have a president.
The British Government feels as if they were hoodwinked into helping our forces in Iraq. The war in the middle east has gone on for what seems like forever, and Britain is pointing the finger at us for them getting involved.
Britain is also struggling with other problems just like the U.S. with debates, missing children and other things like that. They happen in both countries.
Two similarities of Great Britain is the United States and Great Britain have a bicameral system. They also both have limited power for their leader.
A difference is that the house of lords does not have any power to veto or make a bill not pass. They also the house of commons people of opposing parties face each other, while ours face the same way and take turns talking.
Britain is changing its sex offender laws. They are trying to make any sex offender be able to appeal to the courts so they don't have to register to the police for the rest of their life. One of the biggest contraversies is that the child molesters supposedly said to never change their thoughts.
The government is trying to stop the heart surgery on any child. This is because the children some times only make it to adult hood for very few years. The government thinks that since they don't get tax money from these children they are losing money. This is why i don't like government health care they can deny anyone from anything. This is a cruel thing to do the country is essentially killing their own people.
Britain is having problems because of government run health care that the elderly and disabled are being neglected in retirement homes.
One segment of british government failed to follow up on a lead that could have stopped 7/7 bombings.
We have a house of commons and they have a house of lords. We have a president and they have a queen. Both the president and the queen have limited power. Both governments hold a poll for who they want to lead.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged in England After eight years of on-again off-again dating and people who were starting to doubt their relationship, the royal family finally announced a 2011 wedding.
Britain was hit by a huge snowstorm this week. Parts of Britain are at a stand still. The UK has shut down airports and roads, which is forcing some people to sleep in their cars.
I dont excactly know what to say about the princes wedding. The storm in Britain sounds like a big deal though. It sounds even worse than the one that recently hit us in January.
We both have elected officials that we vote for. They have a Prime Minister, we have a President. Then both our leaders chose who will be representing the rest of their cabinet.
Some differences are that they have a royal family and we don't. Then they have different forms of council going down while we have numerous states that have their own individual governments within our large government.
The youth unemployment rate in the United Kingdom has gone up 20% in recent years. Statistics say that the job cuts will only be getting worse due to the fact that the UK's governmental budget cuts. They are hoping things will stablize, but it appears as for now there will be 10 people out chasing after the same one job as the others.
This shows that the UK is experiencing the exact same governmental issues as we are. The US has been struggling to restalize itself as a big power, but with our current moenatary situation it will be a struggle, and it seems that Britain is beginning to deal with the same problems.
Also happening in the UK is the idea that they want to make it so that sex offenders won't have to be known as a sex offender the entirety of their lives. They will just have to be known as such for about 15 years.
I think this is ridiculous! If you are a sex offender you are obviously clinicly messed up, and I doubt they will change their minds. I hope this law fails and they are still branded as that for life.
The differences between the government of England and The United States are there, even though they aren't that large. England has a queen or king, we do not. England's lower house, the house of commons, has far greater power as compared to their higher house, the House of Lords. In the United States, the house of Represenatives has the same amount of power as the Senate. In America, congress has debates in a nice, organized manner, while in England they have rediculous debates.
All that being said, the similiarities are there as well. In Both Britain and the US, we have a head figure who leads the government. Also, we have a bicameral congress system. We both have democracies set up so our citizens can have a fair say in the government that controls them.
British gas, which is the only petrolium cooperation in the UK says their profits are up 24% in the last quarter. This is said to have happened to because of 216,000 more buyers of gasoline, though they have also increased costs to the people..
